Hi, I’m Cing Root. I’m the wife of Carson Root, Senior Minister at Central Christian Church in Lawrenceville, Illinois.

In 2022, my life took a turn I never saw coming when I was diagnosed with stomach cancer. It was completely unexpected, truly The Unplanned Journey. It was not part of my plans and not something I would have chosen. Yet in the middle of fear, uncertainty, and suffering, God met me in ways I had never experienced before.

What I thought might break me became a season where I saw His mercy, His nearness, and His faithfulness up close. By the grace of God, I am healed today.

I wrote The Unplanned Journey to share what God taught me during that time. It is not just a story about illness. It is about surrender, trust, and finding hope when life does not unfold the way we expect it to.

Now I travel and speak, sharing my story and encouraging others who may be walking through their own unexpected valleys. I would truly love the opportunity to come and share with your group about how God carried me through and how He continues to bless my life because of it.
